But I did feel like plucking that moment and placing it 200 pages before that moment. Matthew Caldwell has not learned a thing.Īnd then we get to the ending. Whyyy? Didn’t he learn anything from his drama-packed teenage years? Stick it up to the man or at least, Have. When he hooks up with….um, let’s call her Lady Mystery so I won’t spoil the plot… he resorts back to dancing to the tune of those who threaten him. The second one was that Matt keeps making the same mistakes. That was my first pet peeve with the book.

When the first part of the book seemed to be about Matt’s inner battle about wooing a taken lass, needless to say, the first part wasn’t my favourite. Any guy who thinks it’s okay ruining not just a marriage but the family of two children he supposedly loves… That is a hard, Simon Cowell no from me. Especially, since (apparently) lusting after his long-term friend’s wife and dreaming of doing the unmentionable with her is not a problem.Įven if she wasn’t James’ (his good-although-it’s-complicated friend’s) wife, the main point is she is someone’s wife.! I need some closure but every time I feel the soothing edges of the final chapter in my reach… Poof. This series just keeps on going like Engine Everlasting on Snowpiercer. This is that, except high school actually ended. It’s like when you’re a teenager in high school and it feels like high school will never end.
